American Shepherd Adoption Conditions

Adoption conditions American Shepherd

American Shepherd Adoption Requirements: Here are the adoption conditions for our lovely American Shepherds, in order to ensure their well-being and fulfillment in their new homes.

All of our puppies are born at home in a room called the maternity room that is specially designed to meet their needs.

We constantly monitor them to make sure everything is going well. Our puppies are handled every day and given early stimulation exercises from the first days of their arrival to ensure optimal awakening.
You can learn more about early stimulation through the following link: Early neurological stimulation for your puppy | Ile aux chiens | Ile aux chiens | Drummonville

Little by little, we introduce them to new textures, smells, and sounds, always with kindness and gentleness.

From a very young age, they are in contact with children of all ages and different species of animals, including cats.

Socialization between 0 and 3 months is crucial to ensure that you have a confident and well-adjusted puppy.

Because it is important to offer you puppies that meet your physical and psychological criteria, the puppies will be assigned at 5 weeks old when we have a better understanding of their character. We will be able to talk to you about them and their personality, even if it is subject to change.

The essentials for adopting an Australian Shepherd Toy or Miniature

The Australian Shepherd, whether miniature or toy, is a highly sensitive dog that needs to be thoroughly socialised if it is to be a perfect companion.

We are looking for passionate and available families. In fact, it is not possible to adopt a Miniature Australian Shepherd or Toy from our kennel if they are absent on a daily basis and for long periods of time (7am to 7pm, for example)...
We are looking for families who are available during the week and who will commit to taking the dog outside every day, as a garden is not enough for their development and well-being.

The Australian Shepherd is a real glue pot, who loves to have a role/work to do. You'll need to be available to stimulate him both physically and mentally.

Finally, you'll need to be patient - welcoming a puppy is a real upheaval, with its share of cuddles and licks, but also sleepless nights and wee-wees on the carpet.

In short, this chewy little munchkin will have plenty of needs that you'll need to meet for over 10 years.

Adoption process

Have you fallen in love with the American Shepherd and would you like to welcome one?

We initially offer a phone conversation. This exchange will be an opportunity for us to talk about our breeding and our ethics, as well as to get to know each other.

As a follow-up to this exchange, we would like to invite you to come and meet us at the kennel. This meeting will be an opportunity to get to know our adults and our available puppies, as well as our kennel and ethics.
Following your visit, you will have the opportunity to reserve one of our puppies. We will then send you a reservation contract and a deposit of 1000 euros will be requested to confirm this reservation.

Puppies are usually reserved around their fourth or fifth year of life. We will then send you weekly photos and videos so that you can follow their progress and, above all, keep beautiful memories of this period.

We accept payment in instalments subject to strict conditions that we can discuss together.

All our puppies leave the kennel when they are 9-10 weeks old:

  • Identified with an electronic chip
  • Vaccinated
  • Certificate of good health established by our veterinarian
  • Dewormed every two weeks until departure
  • Reservation or sales contract
  • A puppy kit with toys they enjoy
  • A guide and educational advice to facilitate their arrival at home
  • A Santévet insurance for 3 months
