I have often seen this question asked on social media: what will be the size of my Pomsky? Size seems to be a real concern for many families.<\/p>

So, F3 Pomskies are smaller than F2 Pomskies, which are smaller than F1 Pomskies, and in all of this, what are F1B, F1A, F2A, F2B? It can be confusing!<\/p>

Let's start from the beginning!<\/p>

It all starts with a POMSKY F1\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The POMSKY is a crossbreed between a HUSKY and a Pomeranian, and this first crossbreed is called F1: 50% Husky, 50% Pomeranian. The mother is always the Husky to avoid any problems during delivery.<\/p>

Female Huskies measure between 51 and 56 cm and weigh between 16 and 23 kg, while male Pomeranians measure between 18 and 24 cm and weigh less than 3.5 kg.<\/p>

POMSKY F1s will often be around 40 cm and weigh more or less 11 kg; once again, this is never 100%.<\/p>

There is then a variation of this first generation F1 called F1B and F1A!<\/span>Let's start with F1B: it is the result of a cross between a POMSKY and a Husky. It will have 25% Pomeranian and 75% Husky. Thus, the dog will be more Husky-like and tend to be medium-sized. It all depends, however, on the breeder's selection, if the selected Husky and POMSKY are in the large or small mediums. Then the Pomsky F1A is the result of a cross between a POMSKY and a Pomeranian: it will be 25% Husky and 75% Pomeranian. This pairing normally produces smaller POMSKYs than F1 and F1B, but the puppies will be less Husky-like.<\/p>

When we talk about the \"Husky type,\" we are referring, in particular, to the beautiful Fleur de Lys marking of the latter. Please note that this is still called F1B in some breed clubs.<\/strong><\/p>

POMSKY F2 :<\/p>

The Pomsky F2 is the result of two Pomsky F1s, so it is 50% Husky and 50% Pomeranian. Normally, we arrive here at \"Mini Huskies\" with a beautiful marking.<\/p>

POMSKY F3 :<\/p>

The Pomsky F3 is the result of a coupling of two Pomsky F2s. Visually similar to the POMSKY F2, although a further reduced size may be sought. In reality? <\/span><\/strong><\/p>

The generation does not determine the size of the puppy! Nor do the parents' sizes, as previous generations can have an impact on the puppy's size. <\/span><\/p>

Even if the breed standard dictates that the smallest should be F1a, F2a, F3.. it remains essential to question the breeder, who is supposed to know his\/her lines. Each breeder must do a thorough job on his\/her lines and aim for a certain size, a certain marking, and a playful and stable character to make a true life companion.<\/span><\/p>
